Dating to circa 1730, this is one of Newington's oldest surviving structures. Josiah Willard, the first parish clerk who is credited with naming the town 'Newington,' established this homestead. The name means 'new town in the meadow' from Old English. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
